Mesh

The Mesh tool allows you to mesh your thickened lattice for export and 3D print.

Select thick lattice

Choose a thickened lattice to mesh.

Mesh resolution

0 is smallest, 1 is largest. The smaller the mesh, the larger the file will be so as a rule of thumb start at 0 and work your way up.

Node smoothing

This factor is used to smooth nodes where the edges join. 0 is smallest, and 1 is largest. Again, start with a value of zero and work your way up.

GENERATE

Generate the mesh.

Reduce mesh by

Reduce the number of vertices and faces of the mesh. The larger the value, the more the mesh is reduced.

Refine & smooth

Create a higher resolution mesh. This will increase the number of vertices and faces of the mesh.

APPLY & CLOSE / OK

Create the mesh using Apply and then exit the tool using Close, or just click OK to apply and exit

Export Mesh as

You'll find this option in the file menu. Export the mesh as an .obj, .stl, .off, .ply, or .dxf

 

LTCX (Pro)

The LTCX tool allows you to save and export your thickened or unthickened lattice in a lightweight and open source file format, allowing you to analyze your structure using FEA.

Select lattice

Choose a lattice to export. LTCX supports both thickened and unthickened lattices.

Export lattice graph to a file.

CAD (Pro)

The CAD tool allows you to mesh one or more bodies in a CAD object. Once the body has been meshed, you can generate a lattice from it.

Select thick lattice

Select thick lattice

make single body

Selecting this creates a single bodied CAD object.

include nodes

Selecting this exports the CAD object with nodes.

generate cad object

Generates the CAD object.

EXPORT CAD as

You'll find this option in the file menu.
